It tells the story of three very different families who are competing to buy the same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve all their problems. The exterior shots of the house are similar to the same house Mitchell and Cam lived in on Modern Family. 6.8 rating, why? I would give it 8.5 if it were possible. I watched it in a 24 hour time frame. Ok, a little cheesy at times, but I really like the cast and acting, it feels warm and heartfelt, and the murder mystery is interesting enough with a little twist, without everything being sad and miserable. The story is light and entertaining, but it has a certain amount of darkness due to the main plot. Like a nice but not too expensive piece of dark chocolate, covered in strawberry frosting. Give it a chance and you won’t be disappointed. Don’t expect a crime drama or true realism. This is an endearing comedy with a dark undertone.
